Breast tissue can sag after pregnancy, with weight fluctuations, with increasing age, and (if you're predisposed) even during adolescence. The glandular tissue and breast skin sag. A breast lift can restore the appearance of a woman's breasts. Typically, the nipples are lifted and slightly reduced in size.
1Procedure
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist will explain the details and risks of the anesthesia procedure to you separately.
Before the procedure, the breasts are precisely measured, and the incision line is drawn on the skin. Based on this drawing, sections of skin are removed.
The so-called classic surgical procedures result in a circular scar at the edge of the areola, a vertical scar between the lower edge of the areola and the inframammary fold, and a scar of varying length in the inframammary fold. In this case, the breast takes on its final shape immediately after the procedure and after the wound has healed.
Aftercare
After the procedure, the breasts are supported and immobilized with a bandage or a tight-fitting bra. Please wear a well-fitting sports bra both day and night for the first few weeks after the operation to relieve pressure on the wound.
2Risks and Results
Despite all care, complications – sometimes life-threatening – can occur that require further treatment/surgery. I will explain your specific risks and the associated possible complications in more detail during the initial consultation.
The operation usually leads to an aesthetically satisfactory result. Even in patients with unevenly sized breasts, good symmetry can usually be achieved. However, despite the most careful operation, asymmetries cannot be ruled out after a lift operation, especially if the breasts initially differ in size.
Consultation
During your consultation, we will discuss your goals and expectations, evaluate your breast tissue, and determine the most appropriate surgical approach for your specific case.
